autorickshaw drivers (3-wheel drivers) and traffic police are victims of pollution and tobacco addiction both inhaled and smokeless are very high amongst them, we launched a awareness and detection drive. for traffic police this activity was launched on 31.5.2003 ( last wntd). we celebrated with them at delhi, national science centre through a day-long conference and a respiratory detection drive through a questionnaire, lectures and spirometry to diagnose early copd changes, bronchial; asthma and rhinosinusitis, sensitizing them to the evils of tobacco and subsequently follow-up clinics at ‘saans’.
